Bethenny Frankel Reveals Where She Stands with Ex-Husband Jason Hoppy Years After 'Traumatic' Divorce | Just Jared

Bethenny Frankel is sharing a new update on where she currently stands with ex-husband Jason Hoppy.

If you forgot, the 55-year-old Real Housewives of New York City alum and the 56-year-old talent manager CEO married in 2010 and split in 2012. For years, the two were in a very contentious divorce and bitter custody battle over their now-16-year-old daughter Bryn. They reached a custody agreement for Bryn in 2014, but their divorce wasn’t finalized until 2021.

While appearing on the September 29 episode of Benny Blanco‘s Friends Keep Secrets podcast, Bethenny said that she and Jason are “not exactly” friendly these days.

“We do both exist on this earth, so that’s positive,” Bethenny added. “It’s been a strained year. It’s been a challenging year.”

She went on to call her divorce from Jason as “torture” and “traumatic.”

“There were a lot of circumstances that have been too much,” Bethenny noted, adding of their “not garden variety” divorce proceedings, “Ten years on a two-year marriage.”

While the custody battle was the “horrible, horrendous, worst of my life,” Bethenny said it was worth it because she considers Bryn to be her best friend.

“I love her so much,” Bethenny gushed. “When we vibe and we are watching something and we’re laughing, we connect.”

However, the influencer noted that she and Bryn are now “on different paths” of life, so their relationship “feels almost like a roommate in a way.”

“We’re very much like Thelma and Louise,” Bethenny added. “We’re in totally different chapters of our lives, obviously, and we respect each other’s chapters.”
