Phil Mickelson Enters Treatment Center for Addiction Months After Being Accused of 'Nonconsensual & Inappropriate' by Golf Club Employee | Just Jared

Phil Mickelson is receiving treatment.
On Wednesday (September 30), a rep for the 56-year-old pro golfer told TMZ that Mickelson voluntarily checked himself into an addiction treatment center amid ongoing personal issues.
“Phil was seeking treatment for family trauma and addiction,” the rep shared.
TMZ also reported that Mickelson sought treatment recently and is already out of the facility.

Phil Mickelson dropped out of 2026 Masters Tournament earlier this year
Back in April, Mickelson announced that he was withdrawing from the 2026 Masters Tournament due to a “personal health matter” going on in his family.
“Unfortunately, I will not play in the Masters Tournament next week and will be out for an extended period of time as my family continues to navigate a personal health matter,” Mickelson wrote on Instagram. “I have great respect for Augusta National Golf Club and it is definitely the most special week of the year.”
“I wish everyone the best of luck and will be watching,” he concluded.

He was accused of making “nonconsensual and inappropriate” contact with a female employee at a golf club
In June, Mickelson was kicked off the prestigious The Farms Golf Club, located outside of San Diego, Calif., after allegedly making “nonconsensual and inappropriate” contact with a female employee.
“Mickelson approached the female employee at the clubhouse where he made nonconsensual and inappropriate physical contact with her,” the report stated. “The employee rejected his advances.”
After Mickelson returned to the golf course, the woman reported the incident to her supervisors. The club immediately initiated “a review and investigation” and confronted Mickelson on the course before he finished his round of golf.
“Following that confrontation, he was told to vacate the premises,” the report said, to which Mickelson complied.
In a statement to Golf Digest, a spokesperson for the club said, “The Farms Golf Club is committed to maintaining a golf club environment that is safe, respectful and reflects the highest standards of conduct. All members are required to adhere to our Code of Conduct, and any allegations of misconduct are taken seriously. Following a staff member report of member misconduct, the Club provided immediate and ongoing support to the staff member, conducted a thorough independent investigation of the incident and took decisive action. This individual is no longer a member of The Farms Golf Club.”
The statement continued, “The Farms conducts thorough reviews of all reported matters according to California Law and takes appropriate action when warranted, consistent with our commitment to integrity, excellence and accountability. To protect the safety and privacy of our staff and members, we are unable to speak further on this matter. We appreciate your understanding.”

He was accused of propositioning Pat Perez‘s ex-wife
Then in late June, Ashley Perez, the ex-wife of Pat Perez, claimed that Mickelson showed her a nude photo and propositioned her in 2015 while she and Pat were staying at a New Jersey villa owned by Mickelson during a tournament.
According to Ashley, the alleged incident happened while the three were drinking wine on the patio and Pat had gone to the bathroom. She claimed Mickelson showed her a full-body nude photo, including his erect penis, before allegedly telling her, “I’m going to leave my bedroom door open tonight. When Pat falls asleep I want you to come see me.”
Ashley said she did not tell Pat immediately because she did not want the situation to “get messy” while he was still competing, but later told him after the tournament ended.
Pat previously hinted at a major falling-out with Mickelson on a podcast (via TMZ), saying, “I have a different hate for Phil than most people. And people won’t know the story. I’m not gonna go into the story again, but Phil crossed the line with me that is just uncrossable and unforgivable.”
Mickelson‘s team responded in a statement, saying, “Some of the allegations circulating about Mr. Mickelson are false, and others revisit mistakes he has already acknowledged, publicly or privately. Stacking the disputed claims next to the ones he has owned does not make them credible. It instead contributes to a false and misleading narrative.”
