Earlier today, it was revealed that former child actor Jonathan Taylor Thomas had been detained by police.

We now know more details about the 45-year-old Home Improvement actor’s run-in with the law.

A rundown of what went down on Monday with Jonathan Taylor Thomas

He was a passenger in a vehicle that was allegedly pulled over on Monday (September 21).

It is said that police asked him to stay in the vehicle and apparently, he got out of the car. TMZ is reporting that Jonathan Taylor “refused and was uncooperative,” seemed possibly under the influence of alcohol and “resisted.”

Now, new info has become available.

He was booked at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station’s jail at nearly 2 am on Monday, and was released about 34 hours later. According to NBC LA, he was booked on suspicion of felony obstruction/resisting an executive officer.

“The driver was being detained for DUI investigation. Sometime during the investigation, Mr. Taylor decided he would exit the vehicle. Deputies told him to sit back down in the vehicle. He was uncooperative with them, failed to follow orders, and obstructed the investigation, so he was arrested for obstruction, and he was arrested for drunk in public,” police told People in a statement.

Charges have not been filed by the district attorney’s office, but prosecutors can decide to review.

Jonathan Taylor Thomas has kept a low profile over the years

In the past decade, Jonathan was only spotted a couple of times. He was seen out for dinner in 2013 and then walking his dogs in 2021.

In July, Home Improvement actress Patricia Richardson shared a photo she snapped with Jonathan (in glasses) and fellow cast member Taran Noah Smith. They played her sons on the show. Zachery Ty Bryan, who played the third son on the show, is currently in jail serving a 16-month sentence after pleading guilty to a felony DUI charge.
