Joe Alwyn and Mary Beth Barone were spotted on a late night stroll together in New York City last week, leading to rumors that they might be dating in real life.
Well, this latest piece of news fully explains why they were probably together!
Joe will be starring alongside Mary Beth in the upcoming romantic comedy movie Still We Met, which is based on her own experiences.
Deadline reports that the movie “follows a young woman at a crossroads who meets a charming British stranger and spends one unforgettable night wandering New York, revealing more than either intended.”
Still We Met is Mary Beth‘s feature film acting debut and she also wrote the script, marking her feature screenwriting debut as well. The movie will be directed by Zackary Drucker.
“I am beyond excited to contribute to my favorite movie genre with the incredible producers at Assemble, Irony Point, and Good Thing Going. To have decorated documentary filmmaker Zackary Drucker directing is a true honor and Joe Alwyn in the role of Isaac just could not be more perfect. It’s a very personal project. Lena Dunham has joined the film’s team as an executive producer.
