Selena Gomez Says She & Benny Blanco Are Still in the 'Honeymoon Stage' Ahead of First Wedding Anniversary | Just Jared

Selena Gomez and Benny Blanco‘s first wedding anniversary is coming up soon and the singer is sharing an update on their marriage.

The 34-year-old Rare Beauty founder is featured in the latest People cover story and shared that she and and her husband are still very much “in the honeymoon stage.” They married in a beautiful ceremony in Santa Barbara, Calif., on September 27, 2025.

Selena opened up about their first year of marriage, saying she loves it and that it “feels so wonderful to have a partner that actually genuinely listens” and “meets you right where you are,” no matter what the mood is or what the day is like.

The “We Don’t Talk Anymore” singer said she it’s all she could ask for. “I just need him, and I love him, so it’s pretty great,” she continued.

Selena also shared what it’s like to work with Benny, saying she values his input and guidance when they’re in the studio collaborating on music. While she doesn’t think she’ll make “every” album with him, she’s appreciative of the time they spent working together.

The couple released the album I Said I Love You First together in 2025.

“He happens to be extremely more advanced in that world than I am, and I really appreciate his advice and his guidance, but he never took control of anything,” she said, adding that, if anything, she wanted him to give her his input and opinions.

Speaking on the upcoming anniversary, Benny said they are so “lucky and fortunate” to have each other and be “each other’s yin and yang.”

He considers Selena his best friend and enjoys spending time with her.

“Everything is so easy, and she’s my best friend. Sometimes I get home and I feel like we’re gossiping about the same thing. It’s my best friend that I get to spend the rest of my life with,” Benny shared with the outlet.

Earlier this week, Benny opened up about his desire to start a family with Selena! The couple were also spotted grabbing dinner together after the Emmys on Monday night, despite Selena going to the award show solo.
