Alan Ritchson‘s Reacher has officially wrapped up Season 4, and we’re breaking down everything that happened in the action-packed finale.

The eighth and final episode of the Prime Video show’s latest season was released on Wednesday (September 16).

Season 4, which is based on Lee Child‘s novel Gone Tomorrow, followed Jack Reacher after he encountered a distressed woman named Anna Merrick on a Philadelphia subway. After Anna died, Reacher found himself caught up in a conspiracy involving a flash drive containing an old photo from a military operation in Indonesia. A deadly chemical weapon formula could be seen on a whiteboard in the background of the photo.

Reacher eventually discovered that sisters Lila and Amisha Hoth wanted to recreate the chemical weapon and sell it to the highest bidder.

The penultimate episode ended with a major cliffhanger involving Congressman John Sampson, and the finale reveals his fate while bringing Reacher’s fight against the Hoth sisters to an end.

WARNING: MAJOR SPOILERS AHEAD!

Did John Sampson die in Reacher Season 4?

Yes, John Sampson, played by Marc Blucas, died while stopping the Hoth sisters’ attack.

At the end of Episode 7, John realized that Waberi was carrying the chemical weapon into his charity event. He tackled the bomber and sent both of them into the Delaware River, where the device exploded underwater.

The Season 4 finale confirms that John sacrificed his life, preventing the toxin from being released into the crowd.

However, Lila and Amisha aren’t finished. Their attack failed to demonstrate the deadly effects of their weapon to the potential buyers, so they begin preparing another batch of the toxin.

What happens to Lila and Amisha Hoth?

Reacher, Tamara Green and Jacob Merrick track Lila and Amisha to the abandoned restaurant where they are producing more of the chemical weapon.

During the confrontation, one of the sisters’ men escapes with the remaining toxin and heads to a nightclub. Tamara and Jacob follow him and stop him before he can pour the chemical into the club’s fog machines. Tamara shoots the man before he can release the toxin.

Meanwhile, Reacher faces Lila and Amisha in a brutal fight.

Reacher manages to throw Amisha out of a window, sending her several stories to the ground below. He then continues fighting Lila, who attempts to inject him with a syringe containing the deadly toxin.

Reacher turns the syringe against Lila and injects her with the toxin instead. Lila dies from the chemical weapon.

Does Amisha die in the Reacher Season 4 finale?

No.

Despite being thrown out of the window, Amisha survives the fall.

After the badly injured Reacher makes it outside and collapses, CIA operative Foster appears and prepares to kill him. Amisha then reappears and kills Foster before turning her attention to Reacher.

Jacob arrives and shoots Amisha before she can kill Reacher.

Amisha then taunts Jacob about the deaths of his family members, Anna and Benjamin. Although Jacob has the opportunity to kill her, he ultimately decides against taking revenge and instead places Amisha under arrest.

That means Lila is dead, while Amisha is still alive at the end of Season 4.

Does Reacher die in the Season 4 finale?

No, Reacher survives.

However, he’s left seriously injured after his fight with Lila and Amisha and eventually collapses from blood loss.

After the confrontation, Reacher is eventually taken to the hospital and survives his injuries.

The season ultimately ends with Jacob scattering the ashes of his sister Anna and his nephew Benjamin in the ocean while accompanied by the group.

Who dies in Reacher Season 4?

Several characters died throughout the season, including Anna Merrick, whose death on the subway set Reacher’s investigation into motion.

Two of the biggest deaths surrounding the finale are John Sampson and Lila Hoth.

John sacrifices himself to prevent the chemical attack at his charity event, while Reacher kills Lila by injecting her with the toxin she planned to use against him.

Jack Reacher, Amisha Hoth, Tamara Green and Jacob Merrick all survive the Season 4 finale.

Will there be a Reacher Season 5?

Yes! Reacher has already been renewed for Season 5 and production is underway.

The fifth season of the drama series is based on the 20th book in Lee Child’s global best-selling series, Make Me. After his train stops in the mysterious town of Mother’s Rest, Reacher teams up with a private investigator in the search for a missing person and uncovers a dangerous and deadly criminal conspiracy.
