Taylor Swift Makes Surprise Emmys 2026 Appearance With Cat Olivia Benson, Seemingly Drops Several Easter Eggs

Taylor Swift unexpectedly made a cameo at the 2026 Emmy Awards alongside friend Mariska Hargitay!

The 36-year-old pop star appeared in a pre-taped sketch for the show that spoofed Law & Order: SVU, in which Mariska stars. Taylor is also a longtime fan of the show and even named one of her cats after Mariska‘s character, Olivia Benson—who also appeared in the sketch!

For the bit, Mariska brought out two giant corkboards as she tried to make connections between the various Emmy nominees and Taylor‘s catalog of hit songs.

Taylor suddenly showed up dressed in a suit playing a squad rookie and acknowledged her reputation for delivering Easter eggs and clues about her music.

At one point, she looked knowingly into the camera and delivered a string of words that appeared to be new Easter eggs, including the phrases, “saccharide,” “Aries, “from the vineyard,” and “north or south.”

The deliberate camera glance is undoubtedly about to be parsed and studied for clues by Swifties in the weeks to come.

Despite appearing in the pre-taped sketch, Taylor was actually at the Chiefs game tonight alongside an A-list actor!

Taylor had an Emmy connection this year

Taylor Swift | The Eras Tour | The Final Show received five nominations. Categories included Outstanding Variety Special, directing, editing, sound mixing, and technical direction/camerawork. Taylor was personally nominated as a producer and performer.

She previously won an Emmy for interactive media in 2015.

Her next big award show appearance will be at the 2026 Country Music Awards where her Toy Story 5 song “I Knew It, I Knew You” was nominated! It will be her first time appearing there in 10 years.
