‘Industry’ Season 5 Cast: Ben Platt & Russell Tovey Join HBO’s Final Season of Hit Series

The upcoming fifth and final season of Industry just added more star power to its cast!

It was just announced that Tony and Grammy winner Ben Platt and Russell Tovey have joined the cast of the HBO series, according to Deadline.

Who will Ben Platt and Russell Tovey play in Industry?

Ben is set to play Matt Crenshaw, who is a “venture capitalist and an early backer of a wellness-tech company.” His character will be part of a new storyline with fellow new cast members Zosia Mamet and Dianna Agron.

Russell has been cast as Declan P. Davis, who is “deputy to left-wing politician Nikesh Shah,” played by fellow new cast member, Bally Gill.

Why is Industry coming to an end?

Industry was renewed for a fifth and final season earlier this year, and the show’s creators shared why they were ending the show.

“For some time now we have been thinking about how best to end the show on an unparalleled high. Unlike some of our characters, we know when to leave a party,” Mickey Down and Konrad Kay said in a joint statement. “We’d like to thank our evangelical fan base, especially those who have watched from day one. Finally: we owe everything to our crew and the best cast on TV for making our writing live. The characters will live on because of their world class performances. Seeing the HBO ident in front of our work will never stop being a thrill. It remains the best place to make television, and we look forward to continuing our collaboration well into the future.”
