Crystal Lake is giving fans their best look yet at the upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series!

Peacock debuted the official trailer for the highly anticipated horror series on Sunday (September 13), just over a month before all eight episodes arrive on the streaming service.

What Is Crystal Lake About?

The series serves as a prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise and stars Linda Cardellini as Pam Voorhees, the mother of iconic horror villain Jason Voorhees.

Here’s the official synopsis, via Peacock:

A prequel to the Friday the 13th franchise, the series follows single mother Pam Voorhees who has been unable to shake her grief after her young, sickly son Jason tragically drowned in the town lake almost a year before. When two strangers arrive at Pam’s door digging into her past, a disturbing chain of events is set into motion, leaving the townspeople of Crystal Lake wondering: just who is Pam Voorhees? 

Who Stars in Crystal Lake?

Along with Linda, the series regular cast includes William Catlett, Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins and Gwendolyn Sundstrom.

Callum Vinson will recur as a young Jason Voorhees, while Nick Cordileone, Joy Suprano, Danielle Kotch and Phoenix Parnevik will also appear in recurring roles.

When Does Crystal Lake Premiere?

Crystal Lake will premiere on Thursday, October 15 on Peacock, with all eight hour-long episodes dropping at once.

Brad Caleb Kane, whose credits include It: Welcome to Derry, Tokyo Vice and Warrior, created the series and serves as writer, showrunner and executive producer.

The series comes from A24.
