Joey King is responding to allegations that she’s had work done to her face.
After walking the red carpet at the 2026 Met Gala back in May, Joey was accused of having a facelift, which she says isn’t true. She did reveal what she did to her face in prep for the event though!
Joey opened up while appearing on the In Your Dreams podcast with host Owen Thiele.
Joey King reveals what she really did to her face for Met Gala 2026
“I didn’t get a facelift,” Joey said. “I’m glad we’re talking about this.”
She continued, “Can I tell you what I did? So, didn’t get a facelift. Just want to let you know. Didn’t get work done. What I did do… I got a spray tan. Fine, whatever. And then I did a 36-hour fast. No food, nothing but water, right? Which I don’t promote that.”
“But what happened was I was at a bachelorette party the weekend before and I was looking swollen and I was drinking a lot… I looked busted. And I was like, I got to do a reset. I’m going to do a 24-hour fast, which is like good for you to do once a month if you’re if you’re healthy enough to do anyway, and then by the time I like woke up and like ordered lunch the next day, it wound up being like 36 hours and everything,” Joey said.
She added, “So I did the 36-hour fast, I got a lymphatic massage, and then I got a facial the day before the Met. And then on the day of the Met, I had another face lymphatic massage. So I did fast, a lymphatic massage for the body and face, a facial, and another face massage. Like we were doing everything we could to look amazing on the carpet. And guess what? It worked because everybody thought I had plastic surgery, but I didn’t.”
