‘& Juliet’ Announces Broadway Closing Date After More Than 4 Years

& Juliet is coming to an end on Broadway.
When Is & Juliet Closing on Broadway?
The hit jukebox musical will play its final performance at the Stephen Sondheim Theatre on Sunday, January 3, 2027, producers announced on Thursday (September 10).
The show will close after more than four years on Broadway, having played 1,723 regular performances and 20 previews. The production opened on November 17, 2022, and will finish its run as one of the 50 longest-running Broadway musicals of all time.
During its Broadway run, & Juliet has grossed more than $175 million and welcomed more than 1.5 million audience members. It became the first new musical of its season to recoup its investment in 2024.
The show’s cast has also included plenty of familiar faces over the years, including Charli D’Amelio, Laurie Hernandez, Chrissy Metz, Kandi Burruss, Cheryl Porter and Joey Fatone.
Before the show closes, several more stars are set to make their Broadway debuts in the production, including Kenzie Ziegler, Aly Michalka, Spencer Sutherland and Anthony Gargiula.
The current cast includes Gianna Harris as Juliet, Paulo Szot and Joey Fatone as Lance, Alison Luff as Anne, Corey Mach as Shakespeare, Michael Iván Carrier as May, Chrissy Metz as Angélique, Ben Jackson Walker as Romeo and Makai Hernandez as François.
“From the very beginning, & Juliet has been winning over audiences and critics alike, shattering every stereotype about jukebox musicals to deliver a smart, funny, heartfelt story – all while sparking true joy in everyone who sees it,” producers Theresa Steele Page and Eva Price said in a statement.
“We’re incredibly proud of the run we’ve had on Broadway, and the story of inclusion, acceptance and second chances we’ve been able to share with more than 1.5 million people in our four years on Broadway,” they added.
What Is & Juliet About?
The musical reimagines the ending of Romeo and Juliet, asking what might happen if Juliet didn’t end her life over Romeo and instead got a second chance at life and love.

The production is directed by Luke Sheppard, with choreography by Jennifer Weber.
The show has become an international success since its debut in the U.K., with productions playing in 73 U.S. cities, 34 states plus Washington, D.C., nine countries and four continents.
