‘Wheel of Fortune’ Adds ‘Fortune Frenzy’: How the New $1,000 Puzzle Round Works

Wheel of Fortune is adding a new twist to its gameplay!

The long-running game show co-hosted by Ryan Seacrest and Vanna White is aiming to spice things up for the upcoming 44th season.

What is Fortune Frenzy?

“Fortune Frenzy” is a described as a rapid-fire game that will occur at the start of the show and give contestants the opportunity to win $1,000 for every puzzle they solve. The goal is for the quick gameplay to help contestants to get over their pre-show nerves.

“A lot of people say, ‘How do you get more games into the show?'” Ryan told ABC News. “That’s not a long show, so we’re squeezing more gameplay in at the top of the show with a rapid fire game that we just started to add, which I love.”

“There’s nothing else to think about but solve that puzzle. It’s got to be quick,” said Vanna.

This season will mark the third overall featuring Ryan and Vanna co-hosting after Ryan took over for Pat Sajak in 2024.

Wheel of Fortune season 44 will premiere on September 14.
