Shailene Woodley and her mom pose for a photo at the 2026 Creative Arts Emmy Awards – Night 2 held on Sunday evening (September 6) at Peacock Theater in Los Angeles.
The 34-year-old actress held up her statuette in one hand, with the other around her mother, Lori, after picking up her first Emmy win.
Shailene Woodley wins her first Emmy award!
Shailene won the award for Outstanding Guest Actress for her work on Hulu’s Paradise, after joining the thriller series in a recurring role during the second season.
This was her second Emmy nomination after previously being up for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Limited Series or Movie for Big Little Lies season one back in 2017.
Shailene shouts out her mom on stage
While on stage to accept her award, Shailene gave a special shoutout to her mom.
“Mom, this is so cool,” she said, via Deadline. “I just feel so lucky to do what we do and to be a part of the circus with all of you amazing traveling storytelling clowns.”
In addition to this being Shailene‘s first Emmy, it’s also the first Emmy for Paradise!
“I just feel very excited to be on board their bigger mission and to have my little slice of the pie and contribute what I was able to contribute,” she said backstage about winning the show’s first Emmy.
This year, Paradise was nominated in seven categories, including Outstanding Drama Series, Outstanding Directing for a Drama Series, Outstanding Lead Actor in a Drama Series for Sterling K Brown, Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for Julianne Nicholson, Outstanding Casting for a Drama Series, and Outstanding Special Visual Effects in a Single Episode.
The first four awards listed above will be announced at the main 2026 Emmy Awards ceremony, which is taking place NEXT Monday, September 14th. Mariska Hargitay is serving as host, and the show will air LIVE on NBC and Peacock.
