The Librarians: The Next Chapter is nearing the end of its second season, and fans are already wondering if the show will be back for Season 3.

The TNT fantasy-adventure series returned for its sophomore season earlier this month, with the Season 2 finale scheduled to air on Monday, September 7.

So, has The Librarians: The Next Chapter been renewed for a third season?

As of right now, TNT has not renewed The Librarians: The Next Chapter for Season 3.

However, series creator Dean Devlin has made it clear that he’s interested in continuing the show.

“Listen, if somebody says they want one, I’ll make it because I love making this show,” he recently told TV Insider.

He also teased the possibility of bringing back even more familiar faces from the Librarians franchise if the series gets another season.

Christian Kane and Lindy Booth reprised their roles as Jacob Stone and Cassandra Cillian from the original Librarians series in Season 2.

“We won’t see [any others] this season, but get us a third season, and everybody has told me they want to come back,” the series creator teased. “

So, with that kind of energy, it would be great if we had another season and I could bring more characters back.”

Who Is in The Librarians: The Next Chapter Cast?

The Librarians: The Next Chapter stars Callum McGowan as Vikram Chamberlain, Olivia Morris as Lysa Pascal, Bluey Robinson as Connor Green and Jessica Green as Charlie Cornwall.

Season 2 also features Dominic Monaghan as Merlin, while original The Librarians stars Christian Kane and Lindy Booth reprised their roles as Jacob Stone and Cassandra Cillian.

When Is The Librarians: The Next Chapter Season 2 Finale?

Season 2 consists of 12 episodes, with new episodes airing on Sundays and Mondays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on TNT.

The season continues with Episode 10, “And the Heart of a Librarian,” on Monday (August 31), followed by Episode 11, “And What Dreams May Come,” on Sunday, September 6.

The Season 2 finale, titled “And the Camelot Conundrum,” is scheduled to air on Monday, September 7.

In the finale, “The Librarians face their deadliest mission yet when a power-hungry Merlin returns to Camelot, determined to rewrite both the past and the future. Now, the team must stop the formidable wizard and prevent the collapse of time itself — or die trying.”

The original TNT series premiered in December of 2014, based on the Librarian film series. It was canceled in March of 2018 after Season 4. There are three Librarian movies, beginning with The Librarian: Quest for the Spears, which was released in 2004.
