Aaron Donald is coming out of retirement.
The Los Angeles Rams confirmed the news by sharing a photo of the player with the caption “The Return of AD,” along with the caption: “Quarterbacks Rejoice,” crossed out and rewritten “Quarterbacks Scramble.”

Donald announced his retirement on March 15, 2024, and missed the last two seasons. He has the 33rd-most sacks of all time since the stat began being recorded in 1982, via Yahoo Sports.

Ian Rapoport and Adam Schefter reported Sunday (August 30) that Donald agreed to a one-year, $20 million deal that could be worth as much as $30 million with playoff incentives.
Ian shared the news on Sunday (August 30) in a video.
“That is the max value for the 35-year-old Aaron Donald. And remember, he has been retired for two years, and then the Rams did that massive, earth-shaking trade for Myles Garrett with the Cleveland Browns, and all of a sudden, Aaron Donald started trading for football, started thinking about it, started weighing it, and earlier this week, it became clear that he wanted to return to the Rams,” he said.
“Today, he has informed the Rams that he is, in fact, back out of retirement. Aaron Donald returns to the Rams’ star-studded defensive line,” he added.
