Authorities have released a statement in response to the death of Hayden Panettiere.

If you did not see the tragic news, the Nashville actress and singer sadly passed away on Sunday (August 16). She was only 36 years old, and just 5 days shy of her 37th birthday.

Police in Greenville, South Carolina released a statement

They said officers, “accompanied by EMS personnel, responded to a report of an unresponsive female.” This happened at 1:50 p.m. on August 16.

“Upon arrival, medical assistance was administered; however, the individual, later identified as Hayden Panettiere, was pronounced deceased at the scene,” the statement continued.

“The case is under investigation by the Greenville Police Department in conjunction with the Greenville County Coroner’s Office. The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances. An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call,” they added.

Hayden Panettiere’s publicist also released a brief statement

Her publicist told NBC LA, “There’s an investigation ongoing. We should know more tomorrow.”

It was reported that Hayden recently took a flight with her ex, Brian Hickerson, to the south from Los Angeles.

No cause of manner of death has been revealed at this time. Our continued thoughts go out to Hayden Panettiere‘s loved ones during this very difficult time. RIP.
