Rosie O’Donnell‘s comments about The View have sparked several updates, and we have the full explainer.

It started when Rosie apparently said she would return to the ABC daytime talk show. If you forgot, the 64-year-old comedian appeared as a co-host on the ABC daytime talk show from 2006 to 2007 and again briefly from 2014 to 2015.

“I will go on the 30th anniversary next [season],” she said on a recent episode of “The Tangle” podcast.

She did say should would participate “just as a guest,” and they planned to “bringing back all the hosts, I think, for the 30th season”

However, after that quote got attention, an insider told EW there are “no current plans” to have Rosie back at the table.

Rosie O’Donnell’s rep then clarified her statement

Rosie‘s rep apparently said, “There was a mention of inviting some of the hosts back to The View as a guest during season 30, there has not been a formal ask from the show at this time.”

Ana Navarro “mentioned [to O’Donnell] coming to Season 30 of The View as a guest (at some point during the season),” but noted that “nothing has been formalized.”

On Monday (August 3), she saw Rosie‘s quotes and had something to say. Michelle told her fans she had not been asked back, though it appears this has not been a formalized process just yet anyway.

“Now that was news to me, maybe because I’m traveling so much, my invite somehow got lost,” she said in an Instagram video. “But I’ve not heard from anyone from the show.”

“I was number 15 back in 2015, despite what they’ll have you believe; I was named a co-host,” she said, adding that she never said anything negative about the show, despite being “unceremoniously let go” and “never went public with anything because I thought that was professional. “

“But now I’m starting to think maybe that was dumb. Maybe I should have because all those other people are being asked back,” Michelle added. “Right now, TBD, we don’t know, but yeah, I would love to hear from them. Would certainly love to, and we’ll leave it at that.”
