Mary Rivera, Who Played Ned’s Grandma in ‘Spider-Man: No Way Home,’ Has Died at 82

Mary Rivera has sadly passed away at the age of 82.

The actress is best known for playing Ned Leeds’ Lola, aka his grandmother, in the 2021 movie Spider-Man: No Way Home.

TMZ reports that Mary died on April 15 in Honolulu. She sadly suffered a stroke and was in a coma. Her family made the decision to remove her from life support as doctors said her prognosis would not be good, even if she woke up from the coma. After her death, her body was cremated.

In No Way Home, Mary shared a scene with Jacob Batalon, Zendaya, and surprise cameo star Andrew Garfield, who appeared as Spider-Man. She spoke in Tagalog and asked the superhero to remove the cobwebs from the ceiling. This is her only credited acting role on her IMDb page.

The news of Mary‘s passing was revealed after the release of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, which achieved the biggest opening weekend of all time for a U.S. domestic release.
