Jake Johnson Addresses the Possibility of a 'New Girl' Reboot | Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Jake Johnson is opening up about New Girl.

The 48-year-old actor, who starred as Nick Miller in the hit Fox series that ran from 2011 to 2018, recently sat down for an interview with Collider.

During the conversation, he addressed how the series changed his life, the possibility of a reboot, his upcoming sports comedy film The Dink, and much more.

On New Girl:

“I don’t think I get to do The Dink, or Maximum Pleasure Guaranteed, or any of the jobs I’ve gotten to do and love doing without New Girl, so it’s nothing but love, man…the chemistry of the cast in that era of life — it was magic.”

On the possibility of a New Girl reboot, and how it depends on creator Liz Meriwether:

“Whenever Liz says, ‘This is what I want to do,’ if we were all in, then I would love to get in there [again]. I’ll always love that show and everybody involved in it.”

On making The Dink:

“[The Dink is] a big comedy with a lot of set pieces and some sneaky heart in the middle…I love producing, because I don’t want to be in something that I don’t believe in…we wanted to make a movie that just felt good — one that you could laugh at and watch twice…I get to do scenes with Ben Stiller. That’s a dream.”

On working with co-star Mary Steenburgen 

“I think Mary is one of the nicest people in Hollywood, and when I say that, I want to make sure that doesn’t take away from her talent…she’s a monster talent.”
