Tom Holland Shares Exciting Update on Long-Awaited Fred Astaire Biopic

Tom Holland is sharing a new update on his Fred Astaire biopic!

If you forgot, back in 2021 the now 30-year-old Spider-Man star announced that he’ll be starring as the legendary dancer and actor in an upcoming movie, directed by Paul King and written by Steven Levenson.

Nearly five years after the project was announced, Tom appeared on Good Morning America earlier this week where he shared that getting ready to strap into his dancing shoes to start preparing for the movie.

“For me, what I love about my job is the challenges,” he explained. “We have Fred Astaire next, is what we’re planning on doing. And as soon as I finish with these tours, I’m diving back into the dance studio.”

“I did my first few rehearsals recently, and it both filled me with excitement and absolute dread because I’ve got so much work to do to try and do Fred proud,” Tom added.

The Odyssey actor went on note that he has “a desire to use no doubles, to do all of the dancing, to shoot those dances in one shot – how [Astaire] would have done it.”

The role of Fred Astaire, and his story, seem to be a hot property lately. In addition to Tom, this other actor will also star as the iconic entertainer.
