A teen guest was taken to the hospital after exiting a moving ride at Disneyland over the weekend.

A 13-year-old boy reportedly climbed out of a boat while riding Tiana’s Bayou Adventure on Sunday (June 21), just before the attraction’s route sends riders down its major 52-foot drop.

According to Disneyland officials who spoke to People, a cast member working the attraction immediately stopped the ride after the teen got out of the boat. However, the boy continued down a portion of the water flume’s course before he was helped by other cast members.

The Anaheim Fire Department responded to the scene, and the teen was taken to a local hospital to be evaluated. He was later released.

The attraction was inspected Monday morning (June 22) by the California Division of Occupational Safety and Health before reopening later the same day.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure opened at Disneyland in November 2024, several months after the Walt Disney World version debuted at Magic Kingdom in Florida. The ride is themed around Disney’s 2009 animated movie The Princess and the Frog, centering on Tiana, Disney’s first Black princess.

In October 2025, a guest passed away after riding the beloved Haunted Mansion attraction at the California theme park.
