Olivia Cooke Reveals the Major 'Star Wars' Role She Auditioned For - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Olivia Cooke is clearing up a long-running Star Wars rumor and opening up about the role she actually auditioned for.

During a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, the 32-year-old House of the Dragon actress said she was not up for the role of Rose Tico in Star Wars: The Last Jedi. The part ultimately went to Kelly Marie Tran.

However, Olivia revealed she did audition for Rey in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, the role that later went to Daisy Ridley.

“I did audition a few times for the other one, where Daisy Ridley got [the role of Rey]… The first one,” Olivia said. “But, like, everyone and their dog auditioned for that.” 

“I think I auditioned once in L.A. and then once with J.J. Abrams,” she recalled. “And I was s–t. I was really bad.”  

She added, “I was just bad. You know when you go into an audition, and you’re just not bringing it, and you’ve let yourself down, you’ve let everyone down in the room?”

Olivia had nothing but praise for Daisy, saying, “Daisy did such an amazing job. I just wasn’t that kind of actor at that time. It wasn’t a fit.”
