Stacey King Dead - Chicago Bulls Player & Commentator Dies at 59 - Just Jared - Celebrity News and Gossip

Stacey King has sadly passed away.
The former Chicago Bulls NBA player and longtime commentator has died at the age of 59, his former team confirmed in a social media post on Sunday (June 7).
His cause of death has not yet been made public.
“Stacey King was a cherished member of the Bulls family and one of the truly unique personalities in our organization’s history,” Bulls owner and chairman Jerry Reinsdorf said in a statement, via ESPN.
“His connection to Chicago, the Bulls and our fans spanned more than three decades — first as a player and later as the unmistakable voice that helped bring Bulls basketball into the homes of generations of fans. We will miss him deeply and remember the joy, energy, humor, candor and passion that he brought to our organization, our broadcasts, and our fans every day.”
He played as a center in the NBA, winning three consecutive championships with the Chicago Bulls from 1991 to 1993. He eight seasons in the league after being selected sixth overall in the 1989 NBA Draft by the Bulls.
Stacey also provided commentary from the 2006-07 to the 2025-26 season for Bulls TV broadcasts after his retirement from the league.
He started with CSN Chicago, which became NBC Sports Chicago, as a studio analyst for pre- and post-game shows, filling in as a third commentator during the 2006 playoffs before being permanently added during the 2007 season. He became the lead color commentator for the Bulls alongside Neil Funk in 2008 through the channel’s closure in 2024, when he transitioned to Chicago Sports Network and retained his role, making a name for himself with his nicknames and catchphrases for players over the years.
