The New York Times bestselling novel written by Taylor Jenkins Reid is about a reclusive, iconic Hollywood starlet Evelyn Hugo, who enlists unknown reporter Monique Grant to write her tell-all book, which will chronicle her life story and rise to fame during the golden age of Hollywood.

The novel was first published in 2017, and found major popularity on TokTok. Then in 2023, Netflix announced that they were working on making a movie adaption. After three long years, it was announced in June 2026 that Anna Kendrick will be directing the movie!
