Joe Anders is starring in his biggest role-to-date and a lot of people are about to discover that he is the son of two Oscar winners.

The 22-year-old actor and screenwriter is playing the role of Zack Bowden in the new Apple TV limited series Cape Fear, which premieres on the streaming service on June 5.

Zack is the son of Amy Adams and Patrick Wilson‘s characters Anna and Tom Bowden. In the series, a storm is coming for happily married attorneys Anna and Tom Bowden when Max Cady (Javier Bardem), the notorious killer they are responsible for putting behind bars, is let out of prison — and he wants vengeance.

Joe Anders is the son of Kate Winslet and Sam Mendes

Kate and Sam got married in May 2023 and their son Joe was born in New York City in December 2003.

For those who don’t know, Sam is the Oscar-winning director of movies like American Beauty, Revolutionary Road, Skyfall, Spectre, and 1917. He’s currently directing the four-film The Beatles series.

The couple announced their separation in 2010 and Kate later married Edward Abel Smith, who was known as Ned Rocknroll for many years. Sam is currently married to musician Alison Balsom.

Joe wrote the movie Goodbye June, which his mom directed

Joe and his mom, Kate, collaborated on the Christmas drama Goodbye June, which is streaming on Netflix. He wrote the screenplay and she directed the film. Kate also acts in the film.

Joe made his acting debut in the movie 1917, which his dad directed. He later appeared in Kate‘s projects I Am Ruth in 2022 and Lee in 2023. He also starred in the British film Bonus Track in 2023.
